Alberto A. Mitrani, MD
Dr. Mitrani is a graduate of Harvard College and the University
Of Miami School Of Medicine. He is a former full-time faculty physician
at the University of Miami where he was Director of the General
Internal Medicine Faculty Practice from 1993 - 2000. Prior to that,
he was Director of the Heart Transplant Medical Clinic from 1987
- 1994. Dr. Mitrani was in the initial group of Internal Medicine
Specialists of the University of Miami Cardiovascular Center and
maintains his university affiliation as Associate Professor of Medicine,
Voluntary Faculty.
Dr. Mitrani is known for his skills as a clinician and educator
and has also been recognized by his peers by being named to "Best
Doctors in America" and "Miami Metro Magazine" as
a leading South Florida Internist. He has lectured at CME presentations
to assist practicing physicians in maintaining their skills, and
is a contributing author to the 4th edition of Kelley's Textbook
of Internal Medicine. Dr. Mitrani's area of expertise is General
Internal Medicine with a special interest in cardiovascular disease
and hypertension, lipid disorders, preventive medicine, peri-operative
medicine, venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. He is a resident
of the local area for over forty years and is fluent in English
and Spanish.
